[SupportForKids] Mr. Joe's child has an emergency surgery |
Hi Everyone,
Mr. Joe called me at 7am on last Thursday 9/22 morning, he told me Cuong (his 12
year old child) needed to go to Children Hospital right away and asked if I
could arrange a ride for him.
In an urgent call, I called chi Hoan Bui and she gratefully agreed to help. But
it would take her at least two hours drive to Leominster. Mr. Joe said it would
be too late so he decided to drive by himself.
Later I asked Mr. Joe to find someone in Leominster to help out and Anh Toan
would be willing to pay for it. With the pay offer, Mr. Joe was able to find
someone to drive for him.
Cuong was admitted to Children Hospital, the doctors were waiting to perform the
surgery for him but the Hospital refused to operate unless Mr. Joe pay $4,000.
Since Cuong does not have any insurance and is not eligible for Free care, Mr.
Joe had to pay $4,000 with his credit card.
Cuong had the surgery and left the hospital the same day at 8:30pm. It was a
long day for Mr. Joe.
We need to come up with some money to help Mr. Joe. If you have any ideas,
please share with the group. Meanwhile, we need to work hard on the raffle,
hopefully it will bring in enough money to pay for this bill. But the raffle
money will not come until the end of the year. Mr. Joe credit card needs to be
paid soon, otherwise the interest payment will be big.
P.S. Normally, all Mr. Joe's children receive care at the Shriner's Hospital,
which provides free care. But Cuong has two huge tumors on his hand which have
to be removed at Children Hospital. Children Hospital does not provide free
care.
